Current Favourite Skincare Products

One thing I ashamedly admit is I can be a little bit lazy when it comes to looking after my skin. Sometimes I forget to take off my makeup at the end of the day, or I forget to apply moisturiser, that sort of thing. I'm happy to say though, I am becoming better at getting into a good skincare routine. I like to keep my skincare products fairly simple, so I have gathered my favourite skin care products to share with you today.

I will start off with some body products. Lately I have been obsessed with products from the body shop. I've been using PiƱita Colada Body Sorbet and I love it so much. It scent is amazing, it smells like pineapple and coconut and my skin feels so soft and smooth after application. The packaging is great, its a 200ml tube, so plenty of product and a little goes a long way. There is no greasiness, it absorbs into your skin beautifully.

Another product from the body shop is their Shea Butter Body Moisturiser. This is a gorgeous smelling product that also is great at leaving your skin soft. This product comes in a pump bottle, which is great and I apply it straight after I've had a shower.

I have always been a body wash person when it comes to the shower, rather than using soap. Recently I purchased the Snow Fairy Body Conditioner from Lush, and I absolutely love it. I have always love the Snow Fairy scent, and This product is a must have if your are a fan of the scent too. I apply it to my skin while I'm in the shower, then rinse after a few minutes. The best part is my whole bathroom smells amazing after I have used it, as well as my skin feeling soft and smooth.

For removing my makeup, I swear by Garnier Miceller water. I have been using this for the longest time, and can't fault it. It removes all of my makeup without leaving my skin dry. This is something I find myself repurchasing time and time again.

I have always been a huge fan of sukin, and their charcoal facial scrub is definitely one of my all time favourite products. I have been using it for a while, and I love how it's so gentle on my skin, as well as leaving my skin soft and reducing the look of enlarged pores.

Another product from Sukin is the Facial Mist toner. I use this more or less to refresh my skin, or after I have taken off my makeup. I love how it soothes and tones my skin.

Let me know what some of your favourite skincare products are, I would love to know! Thank you for reading xx

Cotton On Mini Haul

One of my favourite clothing brands is Cotton On. I love the quality of their clothes as well as the affordability. Recently they had had sale to coincide with Halloween, where almost everything was 31% off! I couldn't help myself, so I had a look online and found some really cool graphic t-shirts! I do love me a graphic t-shirt, so with the 31% off, I got me a few!

I love the style of the two that I am going to talk about first. They are both choker style long tanks.
The first one has Phoenix Festival on the front, with an American Eagle, then on the back there is a list of American Cities. I love the colour of this tank, it's a dark grey and I think it will look great with jeans.

The other tank I bought is really cool. It has a motorbike on the front, with American Motorcycles written above it. I love the colours too, with the pink, purple and peach. It just makes it look a little bit more girly! The back it really cool too, it has a triangle cutout with mesh, so great for summer.
The thing I love most about this top is the little caption underneath the bike that says 'I can't even ride'  This is so me because I like Harley Davidson bikes, but have never ridden one!

The next t-shirt is one I just had to get. Again it's the choker style that I love and it has David Bowie on the front! I love his music and thing he was so talented so when I saw this t-shirt I knew I had to have it. The material of all these t-shirts are white lightweight, this are great for summer but also goo if you like to layer up too.

The final top I have is just a plain pink tee, with a v shaped neckline and has a pretty palm tree graphic with 'Give me a Break' written underneath.

I hope you enjoyed my mini haul, I can't wait until the weather heats up a little here so I can actually were them!

Stay tuned for more posts coming soon xx

Beauty Wishlist #2

There is always so many great new products that are constantly being released, and sometimes it can be so hard to keep up with all the current trends! But I do like to stay in touch with what's new, so I have created a beauty wishlist for things that I would like to try in the future.

HUDA BEAUTY
i have heard so many great things about this brand. Huda herself is such an amazing talented person, so anything she creates is going to be fantastic. I am yet to try any of her products, but lately I have been hearing so much about the new faux Filter foundation, tha I can't wait to try it. From the reviews I have seen, they have been very positive, so it's at the top of my wish list!

The other product I want to try from Huda Beauty is the Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette. The colours look so pretty in the palette. I'm loving the pink tones in eyeshadows t the moment, I think they can be so flattering and work well with so many eye looks.

MAC Cosmetics
I actually have never tried anything by Mac, so when they released their holiday collection, it kind of piqued my interest. I love the look of the lipsticks, the packaging is so pretty and the colours are gorgeous. The one that I was particularly interested in is Shimmer and Spice.

I also want to try the fix plus. I have heard so many great thins about this that I can't wait to give it a go. I'm always on the look out for a good setting spray so have added this one to my list.

Kind of a short wish list, but these items are quite high end, so will take me a while to purchase them! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know wht is on your beauty wish list, I would love to know!

Products I always repurchase

There are some products that I just can't change in my beauty routine. Don't get me wrong, I do love to try new products, but there is always that small element of fear that it won't work for me! So rather than wasting my money on something new, the products that I find myself repurchasing all the time are basically staples in my beauty routine. These range from makeup products to skin care products.

I love a great foundation and even better when I can get it for a reasonable price. My current favourit
e foundation is by Rimmel Match Perfection. This is honestly my holy grail foundation because it just works so well with my skin and gives me a nice even coverage. The best part is, it's regularly on sale somewhere so I always pick it up cheaper than regular price!

I am very fussy when it comes to mascara and have tried a few recently that haven't really worked for me. One that I find myself constantly going back to is the Essence Lash Princess mascara. This is definitely one of the better ones I have used. It really gives me definition and length. The price tag is even better coming in at the 5-6 dollar mark. Very good value for money.

When it comes to powder, I can't go past the cult favourite, Australis Fresh and Flawless pressed powder. To me this will be one that I always have in  my collection because I just love the finish it gives my skin.

I also love to fake tan, even in the cooler months and my all time favourite product to use is Bondi Sands. I use the Ultra Dark shade and it's great. Using the mitt, the coverage is fairly even and lasts for ages. The great thing about this product is that most supermarkets stock it now and regularly have sales, so I always manage to pick it up cheaper!

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, and one brand who's Christmas range I always look forward to is Lush! I must admit I am a Lush addict at the best of time, but put a little bit of Snow fairy in front of me and I turn into a full on obsessive nut! Snow Fairy is my all time favorite lush scent, and every year at Christmas time I stock up.

Let me know what items you always repurchase, I would love to know!

Products I am loving - Spring 2017

Hello, welcome back to my blog! In today's post. I want to talk about the products that I am currently loving, so keep on reading to find out what products they are!

With the weather starting to warm up here in Australia, I love to fake tan! My product of choice is always Bondi Sands and I have been using their products for a while now. I use Ultra Dark, and as scary as this sounds, it really isn't! I like to look a little extra bronzed, and it's great because I only need to apply one coat of this to achieve my desired result. I always get complemented on how great my tan looks, which is always lovely to hear! The bast way to apply is by using a tanning mitt, to get a nice even coverage!

Recently Zoella Beauty released a new range of products, and I was super excited to know that they are available in Australia! I tried the shower shake and the bath fizzers and love them both! The scent is just beautiful, and makes your whole bathroom smell amazing. The shower shake is really moisturising and leaves your skin so soft.

I am totally addicted to Kmart, and love the face that they stock one of my favourite brands, BYS Cosmetics. I recently purchased the peach palette to try, I have the Too Faced one as well so wanted to compare the two. I really like it. The colours are lovely and very bendable and pigmented. For only 12 dollars, it's definitely something worth picking up if you love the warmer toned eyeshadows.

When it comes to my eyebrows, I love a really simple routine. My brows are one thing I have to do everyday, and the simpler and quicker that is, the happier I am! I purchased the Maybelline Brow Tattoo recently and it has become my favourite brow product to use. It's such a simple product to use and really effective.

So there's the product that I'm loving at the moment. I hope you enjoyed reading, and stay tuned for more posts coming soon xx

August Goals and to do list

I am suffering from the dreaded writers block at the moment but I managed to find something that I would like to share with you. It's a to do list that I have compiled for the month of August, just a few things that I would like to accomplish!
I feel like this year is going by at a rapid rate and each week is getting faster and faster! It's crazy how time flies as you get older!
Anyway, to see what things are on my to do list, keep on reading!

Be more organised!

When I started this blog, I planned on getting out three post a week. Lately this hasn't happened due to just being busy as well as lacking motivation! It's just so grey and cold here at the moment that all I want to do is keep warm with a good book or movie! So I decided that I would get my butt into gear and write myself a schedule for my blog. This includes my three blog posts a week as well as daily posts on Instagram!

Start To Save More

It's getting to that time of year where I have a lot of birthdays to buy presents for as well as getting prepared for Christmas. I also have a few Holidays coming up within the next few months so it would be nice to have some extra cash for that. This means no more spontaneous purchases of things that I don't really need. As a beauty blogger, this is exceptionally hard but I do plan on sticking to this goal!

Exercise More

As we will soon be going into the warmer months here in Australia, there will be no need for the extra layers which means no hiding your body haha! I also suffer anxiety so exercising really helps to control this. With the weather being so cold, it's very un motivating, so haven't really been doing a lot.

Spring Clean

Something that I really hate to do as well as seeming to be a never ending chore is housework! It seems as soon as my house is looking perfect, the kids will come home and change that! I aim to do a big spring clean this month, getting rid of old clothes, furniture and bits and pieces that I have accumulated. I love the end result when it comes to having a good clean out, it's just the starting process that I don't like!

Use Up Old Makeup

As I touched on earlier, I do have a habit of purchasing very unnecessary items. It's funny because I never used to be one for having a lot of makeup or beauty products. But recently I developed an obsession which has led me to this beauty blog! So as part of my goals for this month, I will be using up any foundations, mascaras, or any other beauty related product before I need to purchase anything. I actually have quite a few products, so I will be able to stick to my goal of not purchasing anything this month!

So there is my goals or to do list, let me know what goals and things you would like to accomplish this month!

Thank you for reading xx

$3 Dollar Skincare Review

In one of my many recent trips to my local Kmart store, I was stalking their beauty section to see if I could find anything that appealed to me because let's face it, as a Beauty Enthusiast we can never have enough beauty products!
I finally came across some products that I hadn't seen before. The brand is called 'Beauty Care Co', and all of their products were around the three dollar mark.
This definitely piqued my interest, as I am definitely one for inexpensive beauty products so I grabbed a couple so I could try them.
The products I grabbed are Rosehip & Oil Body & Hair oil, Rosehip & Jojoba oil Facial Cleanser and Rosehip & Jojoba face oil.

I have to say for the price, these products aren't too bad.

I'll start off with the facial cleanser. This product was probably my least favourite out of the three. It is quite an oily texture and doesn't really foam up too much. I found it cleansed my face well, but I would have to use it a few times before my face felt clean. But for three dollars, it's not a bad product at all.

The next product is the body & hair oil. This product os ok too, I mainly use it on my body rather than my hair. It leaves your skin quite soft as well as giving it a bit of a sheen. It has a slight scent to it too, but nothing too overpowering.

The last product that I want to talk about is the face oil. I really like this product! I was quite surprised to be honest, as it was such an inexpensive product I expected it to be quite oily on my skin. But this is not the case at all! I found it applies and blends in well and even minimises my pores a little. It also gave my skin a glowy finish, which I was quite impressed with.

As I said, these products are only three dollars and are not too bad. There are other products in the range as well as other scents. It's worth checking out of you haven't already.

I hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for more content regularly! xx

My Monday Must Haves - My Guide to Surviving Monday

Poor Monday. Everybody hates her. Wether you have had a super busy weekend, to a chilled out relaxed one, eventually Monday comes back around. This usually means back to school and work for most people.

If you are like me and suffer from the dreaded Mondayitis, then I have a few things that are sure to get you through one of the most difficult days of the week! These are not all beauty related, but in order to look your best, I think you need to feel your best!

Firstly COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE! This is an absolute must have for me and prevents me from being a big grumble guts all day. Coffee helps to refresh you, getting you prepared to tackle whatever comes your way!

I find getting up a little earlier, rather than staying in bed for longer helps too. This avoids the mad rush that can occur when getting up a little later, especially if you have kids to get ready for school!

Music is a great way to get you going. I work from home, so having some background noise on really helps me get going and motivates me to get my work done. Even in your work environment, music can help you power through your day.

If you have a list of things a mile long, then prioritise! There are six other days in the week, and you can only do so much! Sometimes putting something off until the next day can help and makes it easier to cop with Monday. especially if you have had a particularly busy weekend.

Sometimes, preparing things the night before helps too. Getting the kids school bags and uniforms ready, any paperwork that need to be filled out and signed or any other odd jobs that can be done is a big help. This will save you time in the morning so you are not rushing around.

Hopefully these little tips help, just remember we are all in the same boat and Mondays can actually be great!

Hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for more content coming soon! xx

Smelly things you need!

Today's post is something a little different form my usual beauty related content. It is all about smelly things!

I love to have a nice smelling home, especially in these cooler months here in Australia. My favourite type of scent is something with vanilla, but I do occasionally try other scents.

I want to share a few of my favourite products that I use to keep my house smelling pretty.

Glasshouse Candele in Tahaa
First of all, I want to share with you one of my favourite candle companies, Glasshouse Fragrances. If you haven't bought from then yet, the I highly recommend them! My all time favourite scent is Tahaa, which is a beautiful  rich Vanilla Caramel scent. It is not over powering at all and really makes your home smell gorgeous. I also love their Christmas range, the scents are always amazing!

Next I want to talk about another 'smelly' company, Scentsy. I recently became a consultant for this company, after trying a sample through a friend. I was instantly in love and have been obsessed ever since!

Just a sample of the great products they have to offer

Scentsy have so many gorgeous products, but the wax bars are by far the most popular! My favourite scents at the moment are Vanilla Bean Buttercream and Black Raspberry Vanilla, but with over 80 scents to choose from, it's so hard to pick just one! Also, the warmers they have are just so pretty, with many designs to choose from to suit your style. If you want to see the full range, click here!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any 'smelly' things you love!

Thanks for reading, talk soon xx

Disappointing Beauty Products #1

I don't normally regret purchasing anything but there is the odd occasion where I do buy something and it's not quite as good as it looked either advertised, in store or online. I don't mind so much if it was a store bought product that was more on the inexpensive side, but when it is something more high end and online, then it kind of annoys me! It can be quite difficult to return something you have bought online, by the time you have sent it back and paid for postage to do so, sometimes it's just worth keeping the product!

Firstly, and I hate to say this, but I regret getting the KKW x Kylie lip liquid. I am a sucker for pretty packaging, and when I saw this it was love at first sight!

When I saw this collection, I was really excited. The lippies looked so pretty, and the packaging was just too cute to resist! When it finally arrived, I couldn't wait to test them out!
The first thing I noticed was how sheer they were. You need to apply at least two coats to have coverage on your lips.

I was also disappointed in the longevity of the products. They really don't last that long at all, and I find myself reapplying right after I have had something to eat or drink. I think for the price you pay for them, I would expect a little bit more from the product.

The final thing I was disappointed with is the colours. They don't seem to have much variation between them, and they are more peach toned than I thought. I thought they were a bit more nude than what they are.

Overall, I will use this product but only because they are on the expensive side and I don't want them to just sit and not be used. But it's safe to say I was quite disappointed with these lippies, especially after all the hype they generated!

Do you have a product that you were disappointed with? Let me know in the comments.

Morphe Vegan Pro Brushes 15 Set - Review

For a while now I have been loving my Morphe Brushes. I have heard mixed review when it comes to these brushes, some people love them and some people hate them. however, I really love mine!

I had been wanting to try Morphe brushes for some time, and finally gave in and bought some. After a bit of research, I decided to get the Vegan Pro 15 set. It comes with a really cool leather pouch to store the brushes in which is awesome. The packaging is so simple, the brushes being black with silver detailing and the Morphe logo.

Here is a list of the brushes you get in the set.

  1. Angle Liner/Spoolie
  2. Deluxe Detail Eyeliner
  3. Deluxe Crease
  4. Chisel Shader
  5. Chisel Shadow
  6. Deluxe Blending
  7. Deluxe Precision Crease
  8. Deluxe Oval shadow
  9. Angle Blender
  10. Deluxe Blending Crease
  11. Deluxe Oval Concealer
  12. Deluxe Angle Brush
  13. Mini Buffer/Contour
  14. Deluxe Tapered Powder
  15. Deluxe Medium Foundation

My favourite brushes would be the eyeshadow brushes. I use Deluxe Blending and the crease brush the most, and I find they make blending my eyeshadow so easy! The brushes are so soft and fluffy, and also pick up a good amount of product. Of course, it depends on what eyeshadow product you are using, but for the most part they work really well with all products.

The Mini Buffer/Contour brush is actually a great brush to apply my foundation. I love how the top of it is flat, and it makes blending my foundation easy as well as giving me a flawless look.

As for cleaning the brushes, which is a job I hate, but they are very easy to clean.

These brushes are synthetic, so they are completely cruelty free which is why I chose them. They allow you to be able to use powder, liquid and cream products which makes them so versatile.
I would have to say these are my current go to brushes, having not used anything else since getting them.

I hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for plenty more content to come xx

Simple Makeup Tips

Over the years, I have pretty much taught myself how to apply makeup and figure out what works for me and what doesn't. This is due to the large amounts of tutorials that are available and also a little bit of trial and error. So today I wanted to share with you a few of my tips that I have picked up over the years.

Before Makeup Application

  • Basically, you want to start with clean skin. Using a gentle cleanser or even a toner to wipe away any impurities from your skin. I use Garnier Micellar water which is amazing!

Foundation

  • For my foundation, I always make sure I have moisturised and primed my skin before I apply my foundation. I also wait until the moisturiser has sunk into my skin and the orimer has set before I apply my foundation.

Mascara

  • I can be very fussy when it comes to mascara, but when I find one that I like I tend to stick with that one. I just apply my mascara using the wand horizontal to my eye, which works great but for an added bit of volume I will use the tip of the wand to add more product to my lashes. This makes my lashes look fuller, without having to apply false lashes.
  • Placing a card or Tissue under your bottom lashes when applying mascara help to prevent you from messing up your makeup.

Eyeshadow.

  • Eyeshadow has taken me a while to get the hang of, and I am still always learning something new. I used to be a strictly one colour eyeshadow person, which now seems so boring! The main thing is to start small then keep adding colour. It's easier to build up than it is to take off! Also blending with good brushes makes a huge difference.
  • An eyeshadow primer is also a good idea when applying eyeshadow. Using concealer and setting it with powder is a great alternative for a primer. By applying a base to your eyes, this will help your eyeshadow stand out and easier to blend.

Lips

  • I am a big fan of Liquid lipstick, preferring the more creme finish rather than a matte as matte tends to dry out my lips. If you do want to give your lips the illusion of being a bit more on the fuller side, apply a lighter shade to the middle of your lips then the darker shade to the outer sides.
  • Also adding a lip liner just outside your lip line can also give the appearance of fuller lips.

Finishing spray

  • Using a finishing spray is a great way to keep your makeup long lasting and avoids your face looking cakey. There are many brands on the market that have a finishing spray, I currently use one by Models Prefer and I love it.

Here are another few quick tips also

  • Using a clean brush or beauty blender really helps in giving that flawless finish
  • To intensify your eyeshadow colour, apply a bit of setting spray to your brush before picking up the shadow
  • Setting your foundation with a powder will help to prevent you skin looking oily

And Finally........

The one tip that I think is probably the most important is getting a good nights rest. This is a great way for your skin to rejuvenate and give you that fresh glow. Oh, and don't forget to remove your makeup at the end of the day too, otherwise your skin will suffer!!

Hope this was helpful to some of you, let me know if you have any tips, I am always learning something new!

Rose Gold Oval Brushes Review

The latest fad in the world of beauty recently has been oval brushes.  For those of you who don't know what they are, these are makeup brushes that have the bristles coming out of the side of the brush instead of the top of the brush. Almost like a toothbrush!

I have seen these brushes around for a while, and have been intrigued as to how they work. I was lucky enough to be sent a gorgeous set of Rose Gold Oval Brushes from www.simpleglamgirls.com to try out.

Upon receiving these unique brushes, I was very eager to open them and try them out. The bushes are very pretty, and the bristles are quite dense but very soft. They are very light to hold and they feel lovely on the skin. I used the largest one to apply my foundation and found it gave a really flawless finish. There wasn't a great deal of foundation left in the bristles of the brush either.

I used the medium sized one to apply a bronzer, and was impressed but how much product it picked up. I was equally impressed by the amount of product that went on my face, instead of being soaked up by the bristles. The only problem i had was trying to blend it out. It kind of just stayed in the area which I applied it, but I was eventually able to blend out the bronzer.

To apply my eyeshadow, I used a smaller one. This was great to blend out my eyeshadow, but a little difficult to pack on shadow to my lid.

I do have to say that they are quite difficult to manoeuvre, compared to regular brushes, but I think it just takes a bit of getting used to. I have been doing makeup with regular brushes for some time now, so using these were definitely out of my comfort zone!

These are a cheaper alternative to the more expensive Artis Oval brushes, but they are great if you want to try oval brushes, or just starting out in makeup and want to try something a bit different.

Overall, I like these brushes. I find them to be quite soft on the skin and don't scratch or feel harsh. As for the design, I love the rose gold with the black handle. I think they look very classy and glamorous!

If you are interested in purchasing these as a set or one on it's own to try, go to www.simpleglamgirls.com and enter code Jane at the checkout to receive 20% off your order. So go on over and grab a bargain!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Review and Swatches

Being the beauty and makeup obsessed person that I am, I am always on the hunt for new products to try, preferably on the more affordable side but I will occasionally purchase something that is a bit more high end!

I also do watch a lot of beauty related videos on youtube and follow a lot of beauty blogs on Instagram. I do this to get an idea of which  products are good, what are not and what is trending in the beauty world.

This how I came to purchase the stunning Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, and I adore it!
I know this has been out for quite some time now, but I have only just purchased it and I don't regret a thing!

It is such a beautiful palette, with the colours being so beautifully pigmented and the consistency very buttery and smooth.
The packaging is great too, the tin is very strong, and there is a mirror inside which is awesome.

There is a mixture of shimmer and matte shades, and the range of colours is suitable for any makeup look as well as suiting any skin tone.

It has fast become my go too palette, with the versatility being the biggest appeal in using this palette. I love how you can do a very simple, everyday look then go to a full glamour night time or going out look. And the scent is amazing! I thought being a peach scent, it might be a bit sickly or too sweet smelling, but it's really not.
